    Job Description

    PURPOSE:

     

    To provide accounting and tax preparation services to clients including: monthly accounting; preparation of financial statements to include Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet etc.; preparation of Federal, State and Local tax returns for review by Sr. Accountants.

     

    DECISION MAKING:

     

    · All duties performed under the supervision of Senior Accountant. Close supervision required.

    · Decision making is based upon established processes and procedures.

    · Goals/Objectives mutually determined.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Tax Filings Preparation

    Assist in preparing, drafting and analyzing tax filings to include: Federal and State Business & Personal tax returns, State Sales & Use tax. Under supervision, compile and analyze tax documentation to include:

    · Meeting with clients to acquire required filing documentation and analyze tax applicability for Federal and State tax laws.

    · Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss Statements, and Balance Sheet Statements.

    · Enter corresponding journal entries as required for year-end reconciliation.

    · Draft Business and Personal State and Federal Income tax returns to be reviewed by CPA, to include: 1040, 1040X, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 990, and others.

    · Meet with CPA to review finalized adjustments, so CPA may submit finalized Federal and State Income tax return.

     

    Accounting & Customer Service

     

    · Bookeeping for clients

    · Draw up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet.)

    · Respond to client emails and text messages

    · Answer client calls and constant customer interaction via phone and email

     

    PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

    · Correctly applying Accounting methodology and formulas

    · Research and apply correct Federal, State and Local Tax laws

    · Accuracy in preparing Financial documents

    · Accuracy in drafting taxes

    · Meeting timelines

    · Customer service

     

    EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred

    · Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks. Lacerte tax software a plus.

    · Resourceful and proactive individual with excellent communication skills who can show initiative and flexibility in their approach to a wide range of accounting tasks, able to work under supervision, team player.

    · Able to work under pressure to produce high quality work to exacting deadlines.
