  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Summary: Drive company box truck to/from customer sites to pick up material, return to facility to unload, and deliver material to recycling vendors.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Although this may be your primary duty or function, you are expected to be cross-trained in other areas of the business and assist in those areas on an as-needed basis.

    o Drive to customer location to palletize and pick up and deliver material back to the facility o Travel (sometimes in excess of 100 miles from facility and stay overnight(s) for several days at a time) to job sites and work outdoors o Ability to maneuver truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed o Scan customer assets to excel spreadsheet if on sight verification of products is required o Responsible for proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement/damage and allow safe transport o Maintain accurate records and logs and turn in each day to Operations Assistant o Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips; responsible for tire chain-ups and minor repairs as needed while on the road o Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet, dry, snow, or ice), and the ability to drive during the daytime or nighttime o General knowledge of laws, regulations and operation of the stated vehicle o Promptly report any unsafe conditions and/or truck damage to Facility Manager o Keep the interior and exterior of cab clean o Inspect material prior to leaving customer site to ensure only accepted materials are loaded onto the truck o Deliver material to vendor when required o Responsible for routine fueling, lubricating, and servicing of their vehicle o Ensure load is not exceeding rated truck weight limit o Drives truck through weigh stations along route to document weight and conform to state regulations o Ability to operate a forklift and to obtain a TCG operating permit o Demonstrate continuous effort to o Improve operations o Decrease turnaround times o Streamline work processes o Work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service o Follow procedures and exercise independent judgment in maintaining the routine flow of work o Understand Technology Conservation Group, Inc.’s QEHS processes and procedures o Compliance with all company security policies and procedures o Cross-train in other areas as needed o Occasional mandatory overtime

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    o Required to reach with hands and arms

    o Required to climb into and out of truck several times per shift

    o Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

    o Required to push or pull pallet jack with up to 1000 lbs of material

    o Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and job site in order to complete work

    o Must use and /or wear required safety equipment at all times

    o Hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information

    o Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

    o Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language

    o Speaking abilities to frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly

    REQUIREMENTS: MUST BE ABLE TO PASS DOT PHYSICAL; MINIMUM OF A VALID CLASS C FOR OREGON, AND A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD; SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO SOCIAL SECURITY TRACE/VALIDATION; CRIMINAL FELONY & MISDEMEANOR SEARCH (ALL COUNTIES OF RESIDENCE), STATEWIDE CRIMINAL SEARCH (ALL STATES OF RESIDENCE) AND EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS; DRUG TESTING; MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT. SUBJECT TO SUBSEQUENT RANDOM BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND DRUG TESTING.
