    SUMMARY OF POSITION

    The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for providing new customer growth and exceptional service of existing accounts from the point of initial contact through delivery of the product. It is also the responsibility of the Outside Sales Representative to achieve growth and profit goals established by the Sales Manager at Rolled Metal Products, Inc. (RMP) 

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Outside Sales Representative. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require. 

    • Increase sales and provide support for current customer base within the territory assigned, including key, target, and growth accounts.
    • Actively visit and maintain communication with companies within assigned territory and inquire about their needs.
    • Introduce Rolled Metal Products’ capabilities to businesses.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with current and potential customers to ensure annual growth
    • Inspect defective material in the field and document with Quality and Sales Department.
    • Execute sales plans and strategies developed by the Sales Manager for new products.
    • Provide technical assistance and solutions for customer returns.
    • Formulate analysis of sales data to assist in establishing specific account pricing.
    • Assist in research, identification, and implementation of new products, customers, and programs to enhance annual profitability.
    • Utilize all aspects of the RMP CRM. Including real time call reporting and analyzing various customer reports for determining trends.
    • Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
    • Submit required reports to Sales Manager on time and as requested.
    • Travel, including some overnight travel is required.
    • Must adhere to all RMP’s policies, procedures and codes of business ethics.

    Required Skills

    • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent organizational, problem solving skills, and time management skills
    • Marketing experience, ensuring ability to recognize opportunities
    • Ability to effectively multi-task
    • Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations customers/suppliers
    • Strong work ethic; self-motivated
    • Creative, forward thinker
    • Valid State Driver’s License; safe driving record

    Required Experience

    • BA/BS Degree preferred
    • Three or more years of Outside Sales experience within the metals industry
    • Stainless steel product knowledge
