Hey!

TDP Group is looking for someone with 10+ years of experience in food purchasing to assist in identifying buying opportunities & menu design for new and improved product lines. Someone that has worked as a representative for a large food distributor and has a strong culinary background would be the ideal candidate. Your typical day would include calling suppliers to assist in purchasing, mapping out future purchasing needs, brainstorming on new menu ideas, pricing ingredients for batch recipes, looking for unique buying opportunities, and helping find ways to incorporate better food into our menus or to save money on our existing menu items. We are focused on serving children the best food we can in an effort to ensure that health and nutrition are perfectly balanced with deliciousness! All of our meals must fall within the USDA guidelines for ingredients and portion size and must also fit into a large production scale as we are currently serving tens of thousands of meals per day.

Ideal candidate will have experience with:

1.) Extensive food & beverage purchasing/distribution

2.) High volume food production

3.) Culinary knowledge and understanding of production limitations at scale

4.) Servsafe certification

Ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

3.) Very strong attention to detail

4.) Comfortable in Microsoft Excel & Word

5.) A positive attitude

6.) No problem reaching out to new potential suppliers or hunting down new opportunities

This is a 1099 contract position right now with the potential to roll over into a full time position in a few months. We hope you are able to help us find new ways to create a better food experience for the children and to improve upon our existing menus and presentation!

TDP Group, working with the Three O’Clock Project, is currently producing and distributing healthy breakfasts and lunches to children across Louisiana, many of whom were previously relying on school cafeterias for their meals. We have grown exponentially in the last five months and are in immediate need of help providing meals to people in need, especially during this uncertain time.
