    IN PERSON ROLE

    Tutors can make their own schedules and are independent contractors with TEACH. There is no minimum hour requirement. Tutors who continue working with TEACH long-term have opportunities to become Experienced Tutors and even potential opportunities for part-time or full-time employment. Availability during school hours (9 am-12 pm; 12 pm-2:30 pm) and/or after school hours (2:30-5 pm) is highly desirable for classroom instructional opportunities.

    Priority Tutor Positions for the 2023-2024 School Year
    We are looking for 2-3 tutors with prior high school classroom teaching experience to join our daytime high school Math instructor team. Prior SAT/ACT teaching experience is not required but preferred.

    High School Math Classroom Instructor

    Daytime hours (9 am-5 pm) working with 4-20 students in person

    • Priority time blocks for availability: 9 am - 12 pm, 12 pm-2:30 pm, or 2:30 pm - 5 pm for 2-4 days per week
    • Priority Location: Woodbury, NJ. Tutors must be open to traveling on-site to this area and other areas of the city (Philadelphia) as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    • 1+ years experience teaching in a classroom setting
    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university
    • Willingness to learn SAT and ACT on the job with TEACH
    • Available to travel locally in the Greater Philadelphia & Camden areas for in-person lessons
    • Ability to complete federal, PA, and NJ state background checks and clearances
    • A zest for learning and the spark to share and build knowledge with students!

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience teaching or tutoring SAT and/or ACT
    • 2 or more years of experience tutoring or teaching in a classroom setting
    • Understanding of student-centered and culturally responsive learning practices

    Instructor Responsibilities

    • Prepare engaging lessons and materials to meet student's needs
    • Connect with students from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences to maximize their academic potential and to help them achieve their goals
    • Communicate with TEACH office staff and parents/guardians to coordinate tutoring lessons and check in about student progress in a punctual manner and with attention to detail
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve tutoring practice and connect with inspiring educators from around the greater Philadelphia area
    • Submit time-sensitive information using our database and other online documentation

    Compensation

    $40/hour- ACT/SAT Class Liaison pay rate (immediate need)

    $60/hour- small group Math instructor position at NJ school (immediate need)

    $100/hour- future lead ACT/SAT classroom teaching opportunities in the long and short term (opportunity to grow into this role)
