    Job Description

    As a Reliability Engineer, you will identify and manage asset and system reliability risks that could negatively impact business operations. The Reliability Engineer works to achieve maximum asset and system uptime by tracking and finding ways to minimize production losses and unusually high costs to maintain equipment and systems. You will manage risks to attain strategic objectives utilizing tools such as FMEA, RCA, and Criticality Analysis. In addition, the Reliability Engineer provides engineering support in the design and installation stages of new assets and the modification of existing assets and provide technical support to maintenance management, technicians, and production personnel to prevent and mitigate operational issues.  The Reliability Engineer will utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for managing assets, determine preventive maintenance (PM) strategies, create PM Schedules and PM Tasks, assist with spare parts inventory, create and modifying asset data, and generating reports for assigned metrics and business decisions. YOU WILL:

    • Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor and refine an assets maintenance plan that includes value-added preventive maintenance tasks
    • Effectively utilize predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
    • Work with Production to analyze and improve Asset Utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Maintenance Cost, Remaining Useful Life and other parameters
    • Perform periodic analysis on equipment database to determine improvement priorities in an effort to increase equipment uptime and reduce asset ownership cost
    • Collaborate closely with site Engineering, Maintenance, and system/asset owners to understand and resolve equipment issues
    • Develop engineering solutions to identified problems such as capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance
    • Conduct root cause analysis of repetitive problems and investigate equipment failures
    • Propose changes to the equipment maintenance plan and need for replacement
    • Participate in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers
    • Develop acceptance tests and inspection criteria
    • Support Departmental CAPA’s and Deviation Reports activities
    • Utilize Quality Systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Ensure assigned Change Control tasks are managed and resolved in a timely manner
    • Function as a technical resource on equipment and systems, such as developing PM procedures and troubleshooting

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in the Asset Reliability Engineering field.
    • Experience in Reliability Engineering tools / techniques such as FMEA, RCM, MTBF, Equipment Life-Cycle Costing, Pareto Analysis, and RCFA
    • Experience leading projects and technical teams at different levels, six sigma methodology and problem solving tools
    • Experienced planning and executing capital and improvement projects
    • Direct experience within regulated environments such as cGMP, OSHA, EPA and general understanding of quality systems
    • Proven ability to apply technical theories and concepts in the biotechnical / pharmaceutical industries
    • General knowledge of engineering principles
    • Proficiency utilizing MS Office suite applications
    • Ability to work within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Working knowledge of biotechnical / pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment
    • Working knowledge of process utilities equipment such as water for injection system and purified water systems, clean steam generators, plant steam boilers, electrical distribution, compress air system, chilled water system, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, etc.
    • Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification
    • Experience with Quality and Maintenance Management systems
    • Six Sigma Certification
    • Project management skills
