ABOUT THE ROLE: We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of our business. You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and give legal advice to management about all relevant issues. WePlay! Esports open a new office in LA. Your functional collaboration will be with Legal Counsel from head office in Ukraine, Kyiv and direct - with the COO at office in the USA.

ABOUT THE COMPANY: WEPLAY! ESPORTS is the first esportainment-company, that combined eSport, storytelling and entertainment content. We want to surprise and entertain every eSport fan and attract new ones. We have been organizing eSport online tournaments and LAN-finals for professional teams of levels tier-1, tier-2 since 2012. We broadcast for millions of viewers from our studio to Twitch-channel and other stream-platforms. We have also developed our own WePlay! Esports online media and tournament platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide legal support of the company's activity in the USA (CA)
• Reviewing and drafting legal documents (e.g., agreements, policies, statements) in relation to commercial aspects of company's activity in the USA (CA)
• Conducting legal research and investigation
• Cooperation and communication with company's departments to ensure minimization of legal risks and maintaining legal support
• Monitor legislation which may have an impact on the business of Company
• Preparation and/or review the internal policies and procedures of the Company
• Advice on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals

REQUIREMENTS: 

• University degree in Law
• Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment at least 5 years
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of tax, corporate, labor law and procedures
• Upper-intermediate level of Russian/Ukrainian, native English
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Knowledge of esports industry legal practices and environment would be an advantage
