    Position Summary: The Technical Assistance and Field Support Specialist delivers direct, on-demand technical support to Army units and TADSS users during field exercises and training operations. This role manages troubleshooting, setup, demonstration, and minor repairs of a broad range of training devices, simulators, and user systems, offering both verbal and written assistance to ensure minimal downtime and rapid solutions in the field. You will be a critical, customer-facing responder, supporting Army mission execution on and off post.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    These services are required to support unique efforts which may require:

    • Provide direct technical assistance for TADSS devices and systems to user organizations
    • Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs and adjustments on simulators and training equipment
    • Support field exercises, including on-site responses that may extend to 24+ hours as required
    • Document technical support actions, user issues, and solutions in logs for COR and government management review
    • Train users on operation and safe use of standard TADSS
    • Escort or support mobile training teams or users in deploying equipment to range, field, or classroom sites
    • Coordinate with warehouse, equipment, and IT teams to ensure support continuity

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or Associate's degree preferred

    • 2+ years' experience in technical support, field service, electronics/mechanical repair, or related military/DoD environment

    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, operate, and provide familiarization training on military or technical equipment

    • Valid state driver's license; able to operate government vehicles on/off post

    • Competency in technical documentation, user logs, and support reporting

    • Ability to work irregular/extended hours as dictated by exercise schedule

    • Ability to pass background check for base access and support

    • U.S. Citizenship

    • Proficient English (written/verbal)

    • Professional, courteous, and able to interact with government staff

    • Timely, accurate documentation and reporting skills

    • All personnel must identify themselves appropriately as contractors

    • Ability to stand, walk, and work in field/warehouse/office environments for extended periods

    • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs; set up field and classroom devices

    • Capable of outdoor work in variable weather and field conditions common to military training

    Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the IC is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The IC frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The IC must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
