    Job Description

    About The Role

    The Audience Relations Coordinator (customer service and registration) will be vital in TED’s conference attendee communities. You’ll assist attendees with registration, ensure health and safety policies are followed, compile audience analytics, and expertly handle all customer questions. The goal is to provide a seamless experience during TED conferences and events. As a member of the Conference Team, your contributions will help us support and retain our audience and enhance the conference experience. You’re highly efficient and organized, enjoy troubleshooting, work well under pressure, and are comfortable managing shifting priorities.

    Note : this is a temporary part-time position. The rate of pay is $23 - $28 / hour.

    What You’ll Do

    • Provide world-class customer service to conference attendees via phone, email and in-person. Escalate any sensitive issues and unusual requests.
    • Manage attendee registrations, including troubleshooting, receiving and tracking large payments, creating reports, and updating website and database content.
    • Assist with attendee and support staff check-in for in-person conferences and events.
    • Assist onsite and provide general event support (for example: event set-up, tear down, etc)
    • Support onsite name badge production and distribution, including managing relevant inventory and supplies.
    • Collaborate closely with other departments (for example: Partnerships and TED Initiatives) on guest registrations.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of high-profile customer support experience, both in-person and online.
    • Experience using CRMs to manage customer data, communications, and support effectively.
    • Strong knowledge of Google applications / Microsoft suite (especially Excel / Sheets)
    • Tech-savvy, fast learner of new tools.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks.
    • Quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to travel internationally as needed.
    • Degree or diploma is an asset.
    • Experience in the event industry is an asset.
