ON SITE TECHNICIAN
CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING TO WORK IN NORTH CAROLINA FOR THE FIRST MONTH OF EMPLOYMENT FOR TRAINING.
THIS POSITION WILL BE A THREE YEAR COMMITMENT
Position is responsible for supporting the staff with its production needs. Serves as a technical resource for the operation and maintenance team. Provides training to less experienced technicians on operating control system and equipment. Troubleshoots operational issues to keep process running efficiently. Provides communication between equipment supplier and on-site operations team.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates
Troubleshoot process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems and identify equipment requiring maintenance
Promote safe working environment
Lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment including the proper clearing and isolation of equipment
Perform general housekeeping
Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards
Work independently under limited supervision (self-management)
Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Pass the background check
Three (3) or more years of manufacturing experience as a Production Technician/Operator with demonstrated strong technical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings)
Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns)
Experience with pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs)
Experience with process control systems
Experience with preventative maintenance
Experience with reading and understanding P&IDs
Experience with processing plant safety permitting and auditing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with PLC (e.g., Allen Bradley PLC, computer control systems, etc.)
Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
Experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.)
Experience with conveyers (screw conveyors, material handling conveyors)
Associate or higher degree in Process Technology, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Chemical Instrumentation and /or Electrical or Computer Technology
Working experience at a food, chemical, or pharmaceutical processing plant
Working experience with flammable liquids and vapors
