    TAC is assisting a valued client with finding entry level engineers working towards their degree and looking for experience. The Quality Engineer Intern will work within the team to ensure the overall quality of the manufactured product, including customer specific requirements, standards, statistical techniques, metrology and audits. Team members will be involved in using basic quality tools, management tools, analysis and presentation of data. They will gain knowledge of customer, end user, or regulatory body needs and help to ensure those needs are met by the organization.

    What the Quality Engineer Intern will do:

    • Customer Relations: You will learn to d evelop and maintain harmonious relationships with customers to assure quality requirements are met and on-going customer satisfaction. This includes visiting customer sites on occasion.

    • PPAP: Learn to coordinate and complete internal/external PPAP in accordance with customer specific requirements and timing. This includes Program Launch and Engineering Changes

    • Core Tools: Learn how to c reate/maintain AIAG core tools workbooks for each program/part assigned. This includes leading the team to create/update PFD, PFMEA, Control Plan, Dimensional layout, SPC, Capability (CpK/PpK), Gage R&R, Gage instructions, Standardized work and inspection instructions.

    • APQP: You will learn how to c omplete all tasks assigned through APQP/Gate review process within prescribed timing.

    • Problem Solving: Learn how to look for quality issues (internal / external) within customer or internal prescribed timing. Also, how to initiate and publish quality alerts/temporary work instructions for internal/external concerns and changes to the production job book as appropriate.

    • Appearance: You will learn to c oordinate appearance approvals with suppliers and customers as required.

    • Continuous Improvement: Learn how to implement effective methods for the team to gather, report and react to on-going requirements.

    • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (5S).

    • Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures (5S) i.e. production floor, shipping & receiving office and warehouse as needed.

    • Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English.

    What the Quality Engineer Needs to Have:

    • Must be working towards a BS/BA in Engineering, Business, or related field and looking to gain experience in automotive quality
    • Problem-solving, attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
    • Working knowledge of GD&T
    • Working knowledge of how to read and evaluate validation & dimensional reports
    • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Mini Tab

    Monday-Friday - 6am-2pm, possible overtime on weekends.
