PLANNED GIVING OFFICER

Employment Status: Full Time/ 40 hours a week

Location: Fully Remote

Schedule: 8–hour shifts

Salary: $70,000-$80,000

Who We Are:

The Asher House is a registered non-profit sanctuary in Oregon. We rescue animals that have been discarded or unwanted, providing them with a life of comfort, love and adventure. For over two years, their Founder, Lee Asher, traveled across 49 states to promote dog adoption and spotlight various shelters and rescues. After his Pitbull Stella passed away, Lee was determined to fulfill his lifelong dream of creating a sanctuary, where animals could feel treasured, protected, and free. In late 2020, Lee discovered a large parcel of property which was the perfect setting to turn his vision into reality! We are here to help people have better days and get animals adopted. The Asher House is on a mission to make the world a better place, one rescue animal at a time!

Core Responsibilities:

The Planned Giving Officer plays a critical role in securing financial support for the organization by developing and implementing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward planned gifts. This position requires a skilled and experienced professional with a strong understanding of estate planning, tax laws, and financial instruments related to charitable giving. The Planned Giving Fundraiser will work closely with donors, legal advisors, and financial professionals to promote planned giving opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.

Develop and Implement Planned Giving Programs:

Create and execute comprehensive planned giving programs.

Design marketing materials and communication strategies to promote planned giving opportunities to existing and potential donors.

Cultivate and Steward Relationships:

Identify, cultivate, and build relationships with prospective planned giving donors.

Provide personalized and comprehensive information to donors about planned giving options, benefits, and the impact on the organization.

Conduct Presentations and Workshops:

Organize and conduct presentations and workshops for donors, board members, and staff to educate them about planned giving opportunities and benefits.

Stay informed about changes in tax laws and financial regulations that may impact planned giving.

Collaborate with Legal and Financial Advisors:

Work closely with legal and financial professionals to facilitate the execution of planned gifts.

Provide guidance to donors regarding the legal and financial aspects of planned giving.

Maintain Records and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of planned giving donors and prospects.

Generate reports to assess the effectiveness of planned giving programs and initiatives.

Stay Informed and Educated:

Stay current on trends and best practices in planned giving, estate planning, and philanthropy.

Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Meet Fundraising Goals:

Set and achieve annual fundraising goals related to planned giving.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, fundraising, business).

3-5 years proven experience in planned giving, fundraising, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of estate planning, tax laws, and financial instruments related to charitable giving.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and professionals.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Familiarity with fundraising software and databases.

Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
