    Come be part of the story! The Colonial Dames of America (CDA), founded in 1890, is the oldest colonial lineage society for women in the United States. Today, it is an international organization comprised of over thirty chapters and oversees many educational and historic preservation projects, including its Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden (MVHM&G) in New York City.

    The Opportunity

    The Colonial Dames of America has a unique opportunity for a part-time Facilities Manager. We are looking for an experienced candidate to oversee CDA’s “campus" which includes our landmark Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden, offices, and event space. Overseeing the buildings and grounds encompasses a variety of tasks to work on independently in coordination with the Executive Director and Museum Director.

    · Part-Time Role: This position is a part-time position, on-site; average hours expected 16-24

    · Compensation: $25-$40/hour commensurate with experience

    Qualifications:

    · Facilities management and/or project management experience

    · Familiarity with NYC Department of Buildings including annual inspections and permits

    · Experience with or willing to learn about the special requirements of maintenance and repairs on historical property Understanding the organizational needs of the campus maintenance calendar

    • Hands-on handyman skills are a plus

    Facilities management responsibilities:

    · Oversees weekly custodial functions for all areas of the “campus”; ensures that all facilities are clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures

    · Manages and reviews service contracts, necessary permits, and associated estimates/invoices

    · Supervises and checks completed work by vendors and contractors

    · Executes event set-up and break down with pre & post cleaning (Approximately 0-3 events per month)

    · Is on call to respond to facility-related emergencies and address them in a timely manner

    · Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly for the safety of the facilities and employees
