UCAN is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations and provide analysis of financial results and trends. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and overseeing vendors & Accounts payable. A successful candidate combines excellent analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to prepare and analyze financial reports and forecasts. Senior Accountant duties include ensuring the accuracy of and providing insights into financial and management reports.

Roles & Responsibilities· Prepare month-end closing procedure journal entries and maintain account reconciliation Control Report

· Prepare monthly financial and meaningful management reports

· Reconcile inventory at 3PL, headquarters and co-manufacture locations

· Maintain FIFO inventory valuation and prepare system transactions to record finished goods inventory received via purchase order

· Ensure accurate coding of Accounts Payable invoices and support bill.com approval workflow

· Review financial and management reports produced by finance to spot errors and identify trends suggesting ways to improve efficiency and spending

· Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP

· Assist with the development of the annual budget and regular forecast updates

· Assist with annual audit preparing data requests and annual/quarterly tax requirementsQualifications & Education Requirements· BS degree in Accounting

· Advanced MS Excel skills and working knowledge of Google suite of business products

· Hands-on experience with ERP and accounting software packages; NetSuite preferred

· Proven experience with and responsibility for month-end closing procedures

· Accuracy and attention to detail and in-depth understanding of GAAP
