Job Description

PURPOSE

The position of Manager of DevOps will be focused on managing cloud infrastructure of THREAD platform. As the Manager of our DevOps team you will lead a team of top DevOps Engineers to plan, build, deploy and support all cloud environments for the contributing to the THREAD mobile and web apps.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and administer platform tools to support release of software products with AWS
• Manage and monitor the different environments, which take part in the SDLC
• Manage, innovate, and create processes, software and tooling that continuously improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency
• Embed efficiency into Solution Architecture and Development practices
• Responsible for building metrics and drive operational excellence.
• Work with teams in creating processes and tools to ensure the software release pipeline flows smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
• Architect enterprise-grade solutions using AWS services.
• Build and manage CI/CD workflows and complex system integration
• Instill and foster DevOps and SRE culture to entire engineering team.
• Manage and implement monitoring system for cloud infrastructure
• Actively coach team members in developing their DevOps skill sets
• Implement disaster recovery solution for production environment
• Implement Intrusion detection, WAF and other firewalls
• Implement backup solution and retention strategy
• Implement logging and tracking cloud infrastructure
• Manage IT infrastructure as needed to ensure company SOP are followed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Overall 10 Yrs of experience in IT and successfully lead a team onsite and offshore
• Strong knowledge of AWS Services
• Ability to work with Bitbucket, GitHub
• Knowledge and ability to work with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Strong hands-on experience in Gitlab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible
• Experience with Infrastructure automation (Terraform, Cloud formation)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
• 5 Years minimum Hand's on Experience with AWS
• 4 Years of proven development and DevOps experience deploying and maintaining multi-tiered infrastructure and web applications
• Experience with healthcare, mHealth and/or clinical research is a plus

• Willing to travel as necessary

THREAD is a unique and cost-effective Software-as-a-Service solution for customers to configure, launch, and manage a remote/virtual research study. A remote research study is comparable to a traditional clinical research study but with a virtual approach, the data is collected without the patient needing to visit a clinic for a face-to-face visit with the principal investigator or other study staff.
