    Job Description

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully building and leading a water services practice in Texas and will develop client relationships for new business. This position will coordinate technical services and staff within the assigned practice to foster collaboration across the region.

    Essential Responsibilities & Duties

    • Set the overall strategy and vision to develop and expand the Texas Water Practice
    • Identify, develop, pursue, and win opportunities with new and existing clients in Texas
    • Plan, pursue, coordinate and win water resource planning, water management and water infrastructure projects
    • Provide technical input and oversight in water infrastructure including research, reports, design and specifications
    • Ability to supervise and direct junior staff
    • Experience with project management concepts and software. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
    • Facilitate meetings with internal staff and external clients

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor s degree in engineering required
    • Registered professional engineer in Texas
    • Demonstrated entrepreneurial attitude and ability to generate new work and grow a business segment, with a proven track record of success.
    • Seller-Doer with strong client relationships, and entrepreneurial spirit, and a track record of generating new work
    • Recognized for technical excellence and the development of client-focused, creative and practical solutions
    • Broad regional understanding of market needs and emerging trends
    • Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills, willingness to travel on short assignments, as needed
    • Ability to work with limited supervision; organized; energetic and enthusiastic; and ability to build productive working relationships within the firm and with project teams
    • Strategic, big picture thinker with an analytical and technical orientation
    • Must possess a valid U.S. driver s license

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience in pursuing and winning opportunities for water clients in Texas
    • Strong reputation in the Texas market for water facilities
    • Over fifteen years experience in civil engineering and water resources related fields
    • Thoroughly familiar with computerized applications including Microsoft software and structural and hydraulic engineering applications
    • Knowledgeable of Texas water institutions, issues and funding sources is desirable, such as Texas Regional Water Planning groups, Texas Water Development Board and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
