  • Responsibilities

    Our client is one of the Leading Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering firms in Texas.   With over 1000 employees and clients in a wide variety of industries, they have been expanding year over year with exciting new opportunities. 

    They are now looking for a Principal or Associate Principal to help lead and grow their Planning division in the DFW area. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning, design and permitting of landscape architecture, land development and planning projects;
    • Lead the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and designs for projects;
    • Mentor, train, and motivate staff. Supervise, review and approve work of project staff;
    • Plan, schedule and develop task and project budgets. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders;
    • Perform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Monitor budgets, schedules, and project timelines. Minimize write-offs by keeping projects on budget;
    • Actively participate in and maintain a committee-level membership from a professional Landscape Architecture or technical society; and
    • Perform other duties as requested.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture required; Master’s degree a plus;
    • 10+ years of related experience;
    • Passion for design excellence and the challenges of creating inspiring places in urban environments;
    • Professional landscape architect license; LEED AP or AICP certification considered a plus;
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator;
    • Prior project management experience with the ability to grow, lead, and cultivate staff;
    • Knowledge of local, city, county, and state land use processes and regulations strongly preferred;
    • Ability to interact well with senior leaders of the firm, coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies;
    • Experience in report and proposal writing, billing, and budgeting;
    • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills both written and verbal;
    • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment; and
    • Possess reliable transportation to access job sites and meetings and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
