  • Responsibilities

    Our client is one of the largest Civil Engineering firms in Texas. With over 30 offices nationwide and over 700 employees, they have been growing exponentially in the last decade.

    They are now looking for a highly experienced Quality Inspector to lead the charge in closing out projects and developing new projects in Dallas Texas

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs on-site daily observation of the contractor’s construction work and compares the work product to the project’s approved plans and specifications
    • Provides technical assistance for visual quality components (per NTTA Design Guidelines and Special Specification 850) during construction; including, field representatives for plant and field inspection
    • Prepares reports and coordinates progress meetings with the contractor and owner
    • Assures the quality of the contractor’s work meets project phased specifications
    • Assists NTTA with product and material approval and acceptance

    Qualifications 

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience working on NTTA (North Texas Tollway Authority) Projects preferred
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with 850 specifications required
      • Experience in verifying uniformity in concrete surfaces and finishes
      • Experience in working with natural grey concrete for pre-cast and cast-in-place elements (traffic rail, bridge bents, abutments and wingwalls, noise walls, toll gantries etc.)
      • Experience with concrete tile samples for the initial target color selection.
      • Experience with color measurement equipment (spectrophotometer)
      • Experience with mock up samples/panels
      • Experience with concrete patch repair
      • Experience with pre-fabrication yard inspections
    • Candidate should have good verbal and written communication skills, be team-oriented and highly self-motivated, possess good problem-solving skills and be willing to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
    • Have a valid Driver’s License
    • Must have the ability to deal and communicate effectively with Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Testing Labs and various other on-site personnel.
    • Capable of performing work duties on typical construction sites that could involve climbing ladders, walking on slopes and uneven ground, and being around construction and manufacturing equipment
