    Our client is one of the largest EPC firms in the nation.  Touching oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, and much more.  They have recently won several large construction projects with TxDOT in the Dallas FW area and are looking to staff up to meet their long term needs. 

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Practice Leader in business development of the CM and CEI markets in Texas for TxDOT, toll authorities, regional mobility authorities and other agencies
    • Communicate and negotiate with clients for CM and/or CEI contracts
    • Under general supervision, manage CM and/or CEI service contracts
    • Lead CM/CEI teams and train and mentor key staff
    • Chair pre-construction meetings
    • Supervise the CM and/or CEI project teams delivering contract administration and CM and/or CEI services on transportation projects per the contract documents, procedures, specifications and manuals
    • Oversee payments to the contractors, Change Order justification, inspector performance, and resolution of construction issues
    • Oversee the project close out phase, including certificate of substantial completion, punch-list, and receipt of as-built drawings, warrantees, and manuals
    • Provide design support and constructability reviews

     

    Key Managerial Responsibilities

    • Accountability includes timely and satisfactory completion of CM and/or CEI services per the contractual agreements and assuring satisfactory client service
    • Maintain effective client relationships and leverage project experience to win work
    • Aid the Practice Leader in development and production of proposals, SOQs and presentations
    • Manage the implementation of established procedures and the implementation of preventive and corrective actions

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree in construction management, engineering or related field
    • Minimum 12 years of experience in construction and/or engineering of existing and new facilities
    • 5+ years as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager with highway construction project experience from contract administration through project close out is preferred
    • Self-starter with strong oral and written communications skills
    • Proficient in MS Word / Excel / Outlook and project scheduling tools
    • Must be familiar with TxDOT procedures, specifications, test methods and project administration manuals
    • Current TxDOT pre-certifications with Work Categories 11.1.1 and 11.2.1 a plus
    • Experience with Design-Build or Concession delivery and federally funded local government projects a plus
    • Motivated to develop business from new and existing clients
    • Availability to work outside normal business hours as required
    • Possess an extensive understanding of construction standards and practices
    • Skill in construction document handling and administration
    • Skill in organizing and managing cost estimating, bidding, and scheduling procedures
    • Skill in documenting and assessing field conditions, RFI’s and change orders
