    Job Title: Grant Proposal Writer

    The Role:

    As a Grant Writer at Guardian School Security Systems, you will play a pivotal role in securing funding to enhance safety measures in educational environments. This position involves researching, identifying, and applying for grants, as well as cultivating and managing relationships with funding organizations. The successful candidate will possess exceptional writing skills, a deep understanding of the grant application process, and the ability to foster meaningful partnerships that align with Guardian's mission.

    Main Responsibilities:

    Grant Research and Identification:

    Conduct prospect research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with Guardian's mission of creating secure learning environments, programs, operations, and services.

    Stay informed about grant trends, funding landscapes, and potential sources of support in the education and security sectors.

    Grant Proposal Development:

    Write compelling and well-researched grant proposals that effectively communicate Guardian's commitment to safety, technological innovation, and community impact.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security experts and technology professionals, to gather necessary information for grant applications.

    Ensure all proposals are submitted on time and in compliance with grant guidelines.

    Relationship Building:

    Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective funding partners in the education, security, and technology sectors.

    Communicate regularly with funders to provide updates on Guardian's security programs, technological advancements, and the impact on educational institutions.

    Schedule and attend meetings, site visits, and events with funders to strengthen relationships and gather insights.

    Grant Management:

    Work closely with the finance and program teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting to grantors.

    Monitor and manage grant deliverables, deadlines, and compliance requirements related to security initiatives.

    Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and information needed for reporting.

    Collaboration and Teamwork:

    Collaborate with the development team to create a cohesive fundraising strategy that aligns with Guardian's mission and vision for school security.

    Provide support for other fundraising initiatives, events, and campaigns as needed.

    Travel:

    Be open to and prepared for potential travel as needed for meetings, site visits, and events related to grant research, application, and relationship-building.

    What We're Looking For/Required Qualifications:

    ● Associate’s degree in a relevant field such as English, Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management or equivalent.

    ● Minimum 3 years’ experience in all areas of the Grant Writing process from prospecting, proposal development, and reporting.

    ● Minimum 2 years’ experience working with technical, state, federal, and local government grant writing.

    ● Strong research skills and the ability to identify and pursue diverse funding opportunities.

    ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    ● Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and compelling proposals.

    ● Experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with funders and stakeholders.

    ● Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.

    ● Familiarity with security technologies and an understanding of their application in educational settings.

    ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Grant Management Software.

    Nice To Haves/Preferred Qualifications:

    ● Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

    ● Certification in grant writing or fundraising.

    ● Experience working in a security-focused organization or within the education sector.

    ● Knowledge of the social services or community development sector.

    ● Experience working with technical and medical grant proposal writing.

    ● Previous work in non-profit and economic development grant writing.

    ● Knowledge of the social services or community development sector.
