    Medical Science Liaison, Virology - South Central(TX, CO, OK, NM, KS, AR, LA)

    Serving as a value-added resource and extension of The Company’s US Medical Affairs organization, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will support the Company’s Global Medical Affairs team. The MSL will work full time to initially build relationships and engage in Scientific Exchange with the respiratory virus disease state community. Through these relationships, the MSL will collaborate with other field teams to raise awareness of and support The Company’s research efforts and global studies through disease thought leader and investigator discussions. The MSL will serve as a liaison between The Company’s Medical Affairs and the clinical study sites, investigators, and the clinical research associates (CRAs). The MSL will be responsible for conducting outreach to clinical investigators and site staff to develop relationships, support education and enrollment initiatives, and represent the Company’s interests.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Complete internal education/training on all assigned SOPs, study protocols, and relevant assets. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and training relevant to the position.
    • Identify and conduct outreach to clinical investigators, site staff and referring physicians to develop relationships, support enrollment initiatives and represent the Company’s interests.
    • Scheduling of Home Office visits to Investigative sites for Home Office Staff.
    • Engagement of RSV KOLs/TLs and Centers of Excellence.
    • Prepare for and present study information via formal presentations to investigators, site staff and referring physicians to generate interest for participation in company sponsored studies or related activities and/or to confirm understanding of a specific protocol.
    • Engage site staff and investigators in discussion to understand and report challenges in subject enrollment and retention and offer potential solutions.
    • Upon request, educate clinical trial sites and referring physicians about disease state or study design.
    • Interact and build positive relationships with key stakeholders on the Medical Affairs and Research and Development teams as well as the clinical trial sites’ assigned study team members including field monitors and CRAs.
    • Communicate any adverse event information, reports of concern or product complaints in accordance with Company's policies.
    • As assigned, attend local, regional, and national medical conferences, to obtain new medical insights, stay informed of clinical trends and support and maintain relationships with key investigators.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Doctoral degree in life/health sciences  is required. (PharmD, MD, PhD, DNP, or equivalent)
    • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills are imperative; ability to anticipate and adapt to change; strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with partners, investigators, contractors, consultants, and team members across functions.
    • Established track record of effective and influential oral presentations to both large and small audiences within the healthcare profession.
    • Computer skills including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and programs such as Zoom are expected.
    • Ability to manage a geographically assigned territory from a home-based office.
    • A willingness to travel within the assigned region is required; overnight travel is required.
    • Valid driver’s license

    Preferred:

    • Prior Pharmaceutical or Device industry experience as a Medical Liaison or Clinical Trial Liaison.
    • Clinical or research experience in the area of Virology, RSV preferred.
    • 2+ years of clinical research experience within an academic, healthcare system or industry.
    • Knowledge of FDA compliance and regulatory requirements.

    An essential function of this role is being able to support and visit customer’s sites and locations (hospitals, institutions). If such customers or locations have a COVID-19 policy that requires vaccination against COVID-19 or accepts exemptions, you may be asked to provide proof.
