    Territory Includes: CO, KS, MO, UT

    Serving as a field-based extension of the Company’s Medical Affairs team, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent the Company as a part of the Nephrology Medical Affairs team.

    The MSL will build long-term peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders within the Nephrology community to deliver clinical, scientific, and education supporting the Company’s Nephrology products/portfolio. The MSL serves as an advanced scientific and medical expert in the therapeutic area of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Hyperphosphatemia for their assigned region. The MSL is responsible for developing, coordinating, and assuring implementation of the Company’s corporate, scientific, and clinical strategies with these thought leaders within academic, clinical, and healthcare organizations.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with local, national, and regional medical/scientific leaders/investigators to identify and address scientific needs.
    • Present healthcare professionals and decision makers with accurate, unbiased, balanced, and timely answers to unsolicited requests for information in the field of Nephrology.
    • Engage in proactive non-product discussions regarding scientific issues (e.g., disease state, diagnosis, epidemiology, unmet medical need, population health, etc.).
    • Support an Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) program by acting as the primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research.
    • Actively participate in advisory boards and other company meetings.
    • Participate in key medical and scientific conferences.

    Qualifications:

    • Doctorate degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP, etc.) in biological sciences OR Advanced Medical/Scientific degree (RD, NP, PA) with combined clinical expertise in Nephrology or CKD.
    • Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience and/or minimum 2 years of clinical expertise within nephrology/dialysis/CKD.
    • Ability to apply scientific expertise and solutions to diverse/individualized situations.
    • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to integrate and work in cross functional network/matrix.
    • Knowledge of FDA and OIG requirements, as well as the PhRMA Code, including regulations governing compliant scientific exchange.
    • Ability to travel, locally and regionally as requested/required.
    • Valid driver’s license.
