Job Description
· Project Management of OE/IAM CV Projects (Technical)
· Act as the Technical interface with the customers
· Ensure that technical, time and cost targets are met through tight communication with R&D and production
· Internal and external presentations (e.g. at brake seminars, trade shows, dealer trainings etc.)
· Communication of customer targets, specifications and project related requirements to the team.
· Perform Technical administrative activities, such as but not limited to:
o Fulfill activities in Globus for quotations
o Follow PDIP process for all NPI phases of the project, which means in general:
- Assist and organize the documentation related to the development of a project (APQP / PDIP) and ensuring the register of the information.
- Pads and Linings critical drawings analysis and put customers drawings within TMD’s mask to send for components suppliers for quotation.
- Support (analysis, registration, distribution, storage and updating) of drawings and standards from customers and suppliers.
- Participate in the preparation of FMEA's related to projects under development.
- Develop and review TMD specifications/procedures and work instructions and support current product changes (according TMD procedure for Changes Management).
- Support Internal and external audits.
- Support in the PPAP’s preparation and their respective approval.
- Support data collection / information about the Kpi's defined in the project (safe-launch phase).
- Obtaining specifications, standards and procedures from customers and do the analysis of specific requirements (products and customer) and development plans.
- Submit files and technical data in SAP.
- Other activities requested by application engineering or sales.
· Manage prototypes activities to guarantee the customers will receive the parts withing the expected time:
o Push for setting the definitions (friction material, underlayer, backing plate origin (current supplier, laser cut etc.), type mechanical attachment, components etc.)
o Follow up with the responsible for each activity (might require interaction with different sites, e.g., Queretaro, Salto, Essen etc.).
o Track the delivery of the prototype at TMD.
o Inform application engineering and sales so delivery can be arranged with the customer.
· Visit customers:
o Handle customers in different situations
o Take notes and distribute the minutes of all technical meetings (review with sales whenever the meeting is done together before sending to the customer; guarantee that responsible and dates are defined for actions whenever necessary).
o Collect market and technology information and share with the company.
· Guarantee:
o Prototypes being on track and will be delivered to the customer in time.
o Quotes are following PDIP process and in Globus (technical aspect)
o Data and files from are in SAP (when necessary).
o Access to customer portals.
o Quotation drawings, product specific requirements and development plans are analyzed for gate opening meetings of before it.
Customers are supported and regularly met.
· Application Engineering Automotive is preferred
· Diploma- 2-year technical automotive school or engineering degree (BS or AS)
· 2-3 years’ experience in the Automotive and or CV field
· Valid US driver’s license
· Former jobs (technical or administrative) with Brakes or Friction Material manufacturers are positive
· In office job, no off site work
· Able to travel Domestic and international
United States Citizen/ No Visa sponsorships
· Self-Driven to
· Communication – Verbal and written skills
· Language. English native or fluent. German or Spanish is a plus.
· Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel & Power Point).
· Use ERPs and quotation management software (SAP, Globus, TMD Inside etc.; will be learned at TMD).
· Good communication skills and be willing to listen and learn.
Organized and motivated and capable of receiving constructive feedbacks.
