    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    This is a full-time position providing 100% on-site support to a DoD customer at Norfolk Naval Station directly supporting the day-to-day operations of the development team. The candidate will be required to use multiple scripting languages to extend and surpass the limitations of out of the box SharePoint capabilities. In addition, knowledge and experience in analysis, design, hands-on development, enhancement, and delivery of web-based applications within Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online (SPO). Must possess proficiencies and service integration capabilities by utilizing REST API, JavaScript, jQuery, SharePoint Client-Side Object Model (CSOM), HTML, CSS, OOTB Configuration and SPFx. In this role, the SharePoint Developer will be required to learn and develop applications utilizing the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI) and other Microsoft 365 tools (MS Teams, Dynamics, Planner, One Drive). They will work in a team environment to develop and convert SharePoint 2016 Foundation, in-house Web applications and make customizations to existing business applications to meet the specific mission needs including leveraging the SPO platform to automate business processes, to encourage knowledge sharing, and to improve productivity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Build scalable and secure applications in SPO to replicate current applications running in a SharePoint 2016 Foundation environment. These applications include but are not limited to, high-level JavaScript driven solutions that integrate components and aggregate data into single-paged applications.
    • Plan, perform, and manage the efforts of migrating each sub-organization’s content from SP2016 to SPO “Flank Speed”, the permanent, single Navy enterprise solution for daily work.
    • Write and modify code, as allowed by the portal administrators, to build applications and sites for clients based on their needs and requirements, used across multiple browsers
    • Write and provide testable scripts to the BA/QA with each iteration of application development.
    • Use source debuggers and visual development environments to debug software for client applications
    • Work with clients to resolve any technical issues they may have and create enhancements that will better serve their needs. These enhancements shall be limited to the applications specified
    • Provide input to the QA/BA related to all SharePoint code developed, to meet specific deliverable requirements. Create a Software Architecture Design document in Microsoft Word format for all applications and web parts in the SharePoint environment. Comments shall be contained within the code (as opposed to a generated source code documentation chm-like file for each application)

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE (SECRET)
    • MUST HAVE A SECURITY+ CE (CURRENT)
    • Four (4) to five (5) years’ experience programming in HTML5; with JavaScript and CSS3
    • Four (4) to five (5) years’ experience developing solutions with 2013 SharePoint Designer
    • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience developing in SharePoint
    • 1 year experience (preferred) developing Power Platform solutions in SharePoint Online.
    • Astute technical writing skills and editing background
    • Ability to manage multiple projects
    • Agile development experience
    • Ability to take initiative
    • Work as an independently skilled professional and in a collaborative team environment

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    • B.S. Technology-based area
    • Microsoft 365 Teamwork Associate (MS-300 and MS-301 exams preferred, not required)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • While performing the duties of this job, must be able to sit, walk, stand, occasionally bend or twist; regularly talk and hear, both in person and by telephone, use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms and lift to 25 pounds

    • All work will be performed on the client site. Off-site/remote work will be at the client’s discretion
