    Job Description

    EQUIPMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST- MAINTENANCE & MANUFACTURING - BIOTECH INDUSTRY Location: Branchburg, NJ Start Date: ASAP 12 month Contract Role Department: Calibration-Services Job Category: Production & Manufacturing    On behalf of our BioTech industry client we are seeking a 'Equipment Support specialist'  for a 12 month contract assignment. Our client is responsible for developing and manufacturing a wide array of innovative medical diagnostic assays for researchers, physicians, patients, hospitals, laboratories and blood banks worldwide.

    Duties:

    • Calibrates and performs preventative maintenance on process and laboratory instrumentation/company equipment. Meets all schedules for calibrations and preventative maintenance.
    • Notifies Department Management when any instrument/equipment is nonconforming and follows up to ensure a timely response to the issue.
    • Assists/Leads in troubleshooting and/or repairing of instrument or equipment problems and resolving difficult problems in creative ways. Uses discretion and independent judgment to consider and determine appropriate solutions / actions.
    • Performs unscheduled calibration/preventive maintenance activities as needed to support owning departments.
    • Maintains technical department files (e.g. specification sheets, manuals).
    • Maintains department supplies required for performing calibrations/preventive maintenance, as applicable.
    • Coordinates with RMS department contacts to ensure timely calibration and/or preventative maintenance of instruments and equipment.
    • Participates/Leads in internal/external teams and relationships.
    • Performs training as required.
    • Performs calibration / preventive maintenance reviews / approvals, as applicable
    • Other duties as assigned by management.     Additional Responsibilities:
    • Act as point of contact and responsible party for scheduled and un-scheduled equipment maintenance, service requests, and vendor service calls
    • Perform service, preventative maintenance, modifications, and installations on instruments with minimal supervision
    • Execute qualification and test protocols, compile test results, interpret data, and generate qualification reports
    • Respond to instrument failures to minimize downtime
    • Assist with diagnosis, service, and preventative maintenance on Tecan instruments and other instrumentation
    • Share information obtained from unique problems or specialized training to team members
    • Assist in identifying quality gaps and support continuous improvement/operational excellence initiatives

    Education & Skills:

    • Preferred: Associates in Engineering, Biological Sciences, or Metrology
    • 1-3 years experience in a regulated environment (eg, CLIA, GMP)
    • Computerized Calibration Management Systems (CCMS), including but not limited to SIMCO, Blue Mountain Quality Resources' Regulatory Asset Manager, etc
