    WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT: We are seeking a 4 day (32 hours) week experienced full-charge Accountant / Bookkeeper to undertake all aspects of financial management, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and day to day functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-starting, disciplined, detail-oriented individual with integrity and the ability to work independently. You will collaborate with and report directly to the President of the company.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Perform all bookkeeping and accounting operations and oversight of day-to-day requirements including;

    Office Oriented:

    • Outsourced payroll preparation and reconciliation
    • Timesheet management
    • Paid leave oversight and verification
    • Update employee records
    • Recurring payables
    • Cash requirements for payments
    • Reporting and period-end management (for internal and external reporting)
    • Period-end journal entries
    • Period-end reconciliations and close process
    • Business property tax compilation and reporting
    • Asset and liability schedule management
    • Business property and professional liability insurance application renewals
    • Compile and analyze accurate period-end financial reports
    • Compile and prepare annual budget and monthly cash projections
    • Oversee and research vendor relationships
    • Vendor invoices
    • Enter vendor invoices for payables

    Client Oriented:

    • Client invoicing
    • Client contract compliance
    • Client invoice inquiries
    • Accounts receivable aging and collection
    • Preparation for client invoices and format
    • Insurance requirements and certificates

    Project Oriented:

    • Staff utilization and review and analysis
    • Project budgeting / staff integration
    • Project billings
    • Contract review / balancing / verification
    • Review and process project-related costs
    • Coordination with project managers
    • Billing rates and tables
    • In-house expense entries
    • Sub-consultant vendor invoice management
    • Management pay-when-paid reporting for sub-consultants
    • Project profitability analysis

     

    WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE SHOULD INCLUDE:

    • Available for work 4 days (32 hours ) / week
    • Proven working experience as an Accountant / Bookkeeper
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in A&E industry job cost accounting
    • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or a commensurate level of directly related experience.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP practices and regulations
    • Broad knowledge of project costing software
    • Deltek Ajera experience a plus +
    • Well-developed analytic and problem-solving skills in a logical manner
    • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time
    • Successful in dealing with clients and company personnel at all levels
    • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
    • High degree of integrity including ability to successfully deal with sensitive or confidential information
    • Service-oriented
    • Ability to self-manage and continuous desire to self-improve
    • Ability to exhibit poise, composure and confidence in all business settings
    • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
