    Job Description

    TRAKAmerica is a national accounts receivable management and outsourcing provider for many of the largest banks and debt buying entities in the country. We currently have an immediate opening for a LEGAL CLAIMS SPECIALIST that will join our existing team which manages counterclaims, other lawsuits, regulatory inquiries, motions for fees or sanctions and various support operations. This position will fill a role critical to our continued growth in Bonita Springs, Florida. This position is classified as non-exempt under the FLSA and will earn over-time for any hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a given work week.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Legal Claims group is part of the company’s Legal Department and serves as the primary interaction point for TRAKAmerica’s nationwide network of law firms and collection agencies and its clients relative to pending legal claims, and is responsible for receiving inbound claims through an automatic intake process and central electronic mailbox, processing, investigating and resolving the claim, responding to and ensuring the next steps are performed in order to resolve the claim and interacting with the network and clients through resolution.

    This role will require the exercise of independent judgment and initiative and will also require a demonstrated ability to maintain strict timelines, manage varied client expectations, thrive under pressure, work independently, process the issues being presented and think critically through the requisite steps to meet and exceed agreed turnaround times for suppliers and clients.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILTIES:

    • Manage assigned cases through resolution
    • Liaise with members of the network and clients in the processing and management of claims
    • Effectively track and manage deadlines and due dates
    • Host and direct telephone conferences to expedite resolution of cases
    • Alert management to escalated allegations or demands
    • Various other items as assigned by management

    OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

    • Knowledge of debt collection laws and/or experience in debt collection industry preferred
    • Prior litigation experience preferred
