  • Responsibilities


    Oversees train operations and is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of all trains for an assigned terminal. Ensures the safety of crews and meets operational and financial targets as outlined by the TSP (Transportation Service Plan) and associated KPI's (Key Performance Indicators). Analyzes past results, forecasts and plans extensively, and recommends process improvements.

    Works on a variety of issues where analysis requires evaluation of multiple factors, including business objectives and trends. Adapts plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges within a functional area; defines department’s operating standards. Translates the business unit’s vision into plans and guides execution. Plans and prioritizes work to meet department commitments aligned with company goals and financial responsibilities. Manages the progress toward stated goals and execution of corporate policy. Manages professional teams comprised of individual contributors and/or supervisors. Participates in the interview and selection process, provides training and mentorship, offers career development guidance, and is engaged in performance management. Provides timely and constructive coaching and feedback; develops staff and provides challenging opportunities. Reports to a people leader at a higher career level.


    • Analyzes past results, plans, and drives the safe performance of activities related to make-up and operation of trains
    • Facilitates employee meetings and programs to emphasize safety and discuss safety risks
    • Reviews, applies, and contributes to the design and development of the TSP and executes work orders
    • Executes emergency response plans by immediately reporting and responding to emergency incidents
    • Arranges for investigations of train delays, derailments, accidents, injuries, and damage to company property or equipment and completes accountability reports
    • Performs frequent inspections of yards, equipment, property and facilities and takes action to improve conditions
    • Ensures FRA drug testing requirements are met
    • Makes recommendations regarding hiring, performance, training, and termination of staff
    • Grows relationships, communicates regularly, and is an effective partner with internal and external customers

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
    • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including leading and managing projects or programs with outcome focused deliverables, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience directly or indirectly leading a team

    • Generating loans through outside sales activity to increase loan growth and increase revenue.
    • Ensure loans are saleable in the secondary market and in accordance with agency regulatory guidelines.
    • Assigned to outside sales activity to promote the Credit Union in a positive manner and develop profitable working business relationships with mortgage brokers, realtors and builders to result in increased loan volume.
    • Cross selling other Kinecta deposit, investment, and insurance products.
    • Assisting brokers to qualify applicants for appropriate Kinecta mortgage loan products based on pricing, income, credit, assets, and appraisal value. .
    • Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with mortgage brokers, realtors and builders to generate consistent loan referrals to assist in loan growth and revenue.
    • Support department business development goals through effective calling efforts on potential members, identifies business needs and corresponding sales opportunities credit union wide.
    • Keeps informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market, as well as changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages.
