    The COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR reports to the Senior Director of Communications and works alongside the Associate Director, Communications, and Director, Scientific Communications, to track and report media results, monitor the Institute’s social media channels, and provide project management support to the Communications department. In addition to other projects, the coordinator will also support the Senior Director and Communications team with administrative duties as needed. 

    Duties and Responsiblities

    • Serves as the initial point of contact for the communications department
    • Tracks SBP media activity, shares relevant stories and collects and analyzes department-specific data
    • Creates reports for internal and external stakeholders including general press, social media and website analytics
    • Inputs department projects into a project management database and helps ensure projects stay on track and are completed in a timely fashion
    • Composes grammatically correct, well edited, professional correspondence and other communication documents
    • Prepares information kits and scans and distributes communications materials
    • Prepares digital and email communications that include high-quality graphics using specific design software
    • Prepares slides for digital flat-screen displays throughout the Institute
    • Translates Institute news into content using approved design templates
    • Contributes ideas to promote Institute news internally
    • Coordinates and maintains mail list databases for Institute and outreach contacts
    • Completes projects independently based on initial direction and design
    • Collects information from internal sources and prepares communications to share relevant information with various audiences
    • Organizes and coordinates meetings, on-campus and community events, video conferences, guest/VIP tours and town hall meetings
    • Supports scheduling and coordination of external vendors, such as photographers, videographers, designers, printers and Media Monitoring Service
    • Compiles and prepares various reports, timelines and presentations
    • Support Senior Director of Communications and Communications department with administrative duties including maintaining department calendars, electronic files, tracking departmental budgets, scheduling travel, ordering supplies, preparing expense reports and establishing a filing system for expenses

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • High school diploma and three years’ experience in administrative support, or an equivalent combination of education, skills and training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained is required
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office required
    • Familiarity with communications tools, applications and platforms desired. Examples include Constant Contact, media intelligence software (Cison), Google analytics, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

    • Possess strong attention to detail, analytical, project and time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic skills in Adobe Suite programs preferred

  • Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a graduate of an accredited program for nurse practitioners, including preceptorship OR graduation from a physician assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) OR RN from a National League for Nursing (NLN)-accredited school - bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
    • Certification by the applicable professional organization (NP's must be certified in Family Practice or Adult to qualify)
    • Current state license. Must comply will all state requirements and regulations. (If out-of-state, must have current license in one of the 50 states and be willing to obtain permanent state specific license).
    • Possess Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification prior to performing work.
    • Prescriptive authority In accordance with state rules and regulations.
    • For NP/PA - Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification (NP/PA will be required to obtain and maintain a Scope of Practice/Collaborative Agreement with a state licensed physician prior to delivery of health care).
    • Ability to set realistic, measureable education goals for patients, taking into consideration patient/family needs, level of understanding, and available local resources.
    • Ability to develop and provide individualized and group counseling, guidance, and health instruction with a focus on disease prevention and health maintenance.
    • Ability to teach patients and/or families proper home health care activities, such as giving injections, taking blood pressures, changing wound dressings, etc.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and basic computer maneuverability.
