    AUTOKINITON WAS FORMED IN MAY 2018, BY KPS CAPITAL PARTNERS TO ACQUIRE L&W GROUP, A LEADING MANUFACTURER OF STRUCTURAL BODY-IN-WHITE AND INTERIOR COMPONENTS. IN SEPTEMBER 2019, AUTOKINITON ACQUIRED TOWER INTERNATIONAL AND MERGED WITH L&W GROUP TO FORM ONE AUTOKINITON. AUTOKINITON IS A LEADING TIER 1 AUTOMOTIVE METAL STAMPING COMPONENTS AND ASSEMBLY SUPPLIER. AUTOKINITON HAS 24 MANUFACTURING FACILITIES CREATING THE SECOND LARGEST BODY-IN-WHITE AND FRAME SUPPLIER IN NORTH AMERICA.

    JOB/TASK FUNCTIONS:

    The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position.  However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

    • Specify and follow up on new machinery coming into plant.

    • Specify and follow up on new transfer bars and fingers all types of transfer presses.

    • Automate new jobs and takeover jobs for all automated lines while working within a set budget, while looking for areas of cost save opportunities for the plant and the company.

    • Generate process improvements to increase efficiency.

    • Participate in Engineering kickoff meetings, ECN and New Job announcements

    • Track and monitor tryout events and be a direct line to the Axis tooling group on tool improvements of new dies. Coordinates tryout's for all new and Take over tools/processes for the plant.

    • Review and initiate material savings through material size reductions.

    • Maintain inventory and organization of the EHA Engineering Hold Area.

    • Generate cost and labor reduction ideas and opportunities

    • Continuously research new technology and see where it can be applied at Autokiniton.

    • Assist maintenance when needed.

    • Work with Welding and Stamping Managers to justify new products and projects.

    • Engineer/design small equipment such as poke-yokes.

    • Improve ergonomics at manufacturing work centers.

    • Go offsite to review possible takeover business.

    • Spec out auxiliary equipment needed for the manufacturing process.

    • Help in departmental operation wherever necessary.

    • Punctual and regular attendance is required.

    • Able and willing to work any shift assigned.

    • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties.

    • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.

    • Participates in continuous improvement activities.

    • Involvement with early die designs to ensure practicality and what works best for the plant

    • Quoting new equipment from design to implementation

    • Good knowledge of QMS and tracking open issues with new dies/Welders in the plant

    • Ability and understanding of transfer simulations and how to use them.

    • Track and maintain spare tooling needed for the plant

    • Mentor and work with interns through the internship program.

    • Maintain department PDCA’s and report out as necessary.

    • Help in departmental operation wherever necessary.

    • Maintain backup robot programs on server

    • Successfully complete Fanuc robot training program

    • Can proficiently operate and set up all presses in the plant.

    • Proficient with "Linear" and "AP&T" transfer systems operations and program troubleshooting

    • Assisting Tool room with die improvement opportunities, quoting and cost savings.

    • Knowledge of customer labeling requirements for build event.

    • Ability to read, interpret CMM data and correlate failures back to fixture and implement improvements

    • Exceptional troubleshooting skills

    • Solid understanding of all components that make up a power press

    • Ability and knowledge of minor electrical components including wiring sensors.

    • Exceptional 5S and Lean manufacturing skills

    • Ability to interpret die/welder designs though AutoCAD.

    • Willing and able to assist other L&W facilities with issues and share knowledge, lessons learned.

    • Work with Transfer/Tandem die setters and operators to help them be more effective and efficient with automation on their work centers.

    • Ability to multi-task and work in high pressure situations.

    • Continuous improvement activities

    • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)

    • Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime

    • Regular and predictable attendance required

    • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor
