  • Responsibilities

    The Director, Brand & Creative Services is responsible for the management and development of the corporate related product portfolio brands. Serving as chief creative officer, this role owns brand strategy, brand advertising, the creative services team and integrated media and creative agency relationships. Success in this role depends on the ability to translate business objectives into appealing brand narratives for target audiences.

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Master's degree/MBA preferred
    • Ten or more years in b-to-b brand marketing or advertising
    • Five or more years in creative design, development and best practices in a business environment
    • Four or more years managing creative staff, ideally in a creative/digital agency environment
    • Has built, implemented and governed global brand guidelines
    • Budget/resource management strongly desirable
    • Previous integration of brands in a merger, acquisition or new-product growth scenario

    ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    BRAND

     

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive brand strategy document to guide strategic decisions involving the brand (including representation of the brand in all online and offline settings)
    • Develop and maintain a referenceable, organization-wide set of brand guidelines that are simple enough to be followed, but thorough enough to encompass all required use cases
    • Build a rules-based approach to introduce and/or integrate new brands
    • Implement internal marketing/change management to support adoption of brand standards
    • Act as a strategic advisor and/or lead in the event of a merger, acquisition or new product brand introduction
    • Curate, architect and promulgate centralized brand assets
    • Implement an efficient brand governance process and workflows that facilitate the function as a shared-service resource rather than a bottleneck
    • Manage agency relationships and internal creative resources

    CREATIVE SERVICES

    • Manage the creative services team, with primary responsibility for the creation of visual concepts and final materials for publications, advertising, promotional items and branding.
    • Direct the creation of design and develops original artwork for publications including magazine, newsletters, departmental brochures and advertising including magazine and newspaper ads, billboards and other visual communication.
    • Coordinate projects with clients as well as contracted printer and media representatives to ensure the delivery of projects.
    • Create job specifications and assigns photography tasks.
    • Develop and coordinate creative services projects.
    • Assign and supervise art productions from freelance artists and photographers.
    • Provide staff with regular informal and formal feedback, support individual development plans and objective, and coach functional skills, project and relationship management skills.
    • Work with team members, management and other departments as appropriate to ensure team productivity and workload sharing, resolve operational problems and identify work process improvements.
