    JOB SUMMARY

     

    This position is responsible for updating the rails data in the MCS for reflecting the physical situation of the units in the terminal, checking for the lining up and assembling of the trains according the Transport Master Plan for the guarantee of its adequate classification and departure, and for the encoding of the BO units for its repairing.

     

    Acts as a team lead and coordinates the work of others, supervising the daily activities of operations team members. Applies and enforces guidelines to ensure compliance and equitable application of policies, procedures, practices, programs, processes, and systems and makes suggestions for continued improvement or increased efficiencies. Delivers operational results that align with department commitments. Plans and prioritizes work to meet team commitments. Provides timely and constructive coaching and feedback; develops staff and provides challenging opportunities.

     

     

    JOB DUTIES

     

    • Verifies the assembly of the trains for the industry use, registers the assembly in MCS, guarantees departure according to the Transportation Master Plan.
    • Encodes the Bad Order (BO) units, registers the reports of the mechanical personnel in MCS to locate and enter the units into the shop for repair.
    • Updates the rail information in MCS to reflect the physical situation of the units in the terminal and update the inventory to carry out an efficient plan.
    • Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

      

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Expertise in one or more disciplines of railroad operations
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience directly or indirectly leading a team
