    WHAT IS CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT?

     

    Through Concurrent Enrollment, high school students take CCD-transcripted college classes while in high school. This can take place at the CCD Auraria campus as well as at high school campuses during the regular school day. High school teachers can apply to become CCD adjunct instructors when they meet the same hiring qualifications as adjunct instructors at CCD and teach the courses using the same book, syllabus and standards as courses at CCD.

     

    To offer concurrent enrollment classes, your high school needs to have a signed Cooperative Agreement with CCD – please check with your high school or the CCD College Pathways for more information before submitting your application.

     

    ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR FOR MULTIMEDIA GRAPHIC DESIGN – CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT ONLY

     

    Multimedia Graphic Design Instructor at the Community College of Denver must command strong teaching skills and be able to engage students using traditional, nontraditional and innovative methods of instruction, including the use of technology, while teaching in a curriculum grounded in core values of critical thinking, respect, competence, professional development, and ethical responsibility. A commitment to student academic success that goes beyond the classroom is essential, as are effective interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.  All CE instructors are also expected to participate in the Graphic Design Program Level Assessment.

     

    In addition to CCD’s hiring policies, the successful Multimedia Graphic Design adjunct instructor requires that you are able to qualify for Colorado Community College System credentials. These requirements include:

     

    Experience (Credit for student teaching up to 800 hours, in the content area, may be applied to either occupational or teaching experience):

     

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher: 2,000 hours of verified occupational (non‐teaching) experience in the content area within the last seven years

     

    OR

     

    • Less than a Bachelor’s degree: 4,000 hours of verified occupational (non‐teaching) experience in the content area within the last seven years

    Candidates that do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered. Previous experience teaching language in a community college setting is preferred.
