Position Summary:

Troubled Muse Studios is actively seeking a Technical Director with a strong background in Unreal Engine. This role involves enhancing our innovative production pipeline, ensuring efficiency and reliability in our tools and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, refine, and manage pipeline tools and processes for VFX, Story, Editorial, and Virtual Production departments, ensuring error-free operation and effectiveness.

Oversee the performance and reliability of systems and projects involving Unreal Engine, Maya, and Z-brush.

Proactively identify and resolve systemic issues within our tools, plugins, and workflows, specifically for those using Unreal Engine in VFX and Virtual Production.

Collaborate closely with creative teams and leaders to align tool development with their needs and production demands.

Utilize programming skills in Python, Blueprint, and C++ to create innovative solutions.

Provide technical support to artists, managing production issues including data and asset management across multiple projects.

Maintain and update internal and external documentation.

Educate staff and external studios on the effective use of pipeline tools.

Stay informed about new tools, software advancements, and trends in the animation industry.

Qualifications:

Relevant Experience or a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Animation Production.

Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine, Python, Blueprint, and mathematical concepts.

Self-motivated with a passion for developing new production and virtual production processes using Unreal Engine.

In-depth knowledge and experience with Shotgrid.

Ability to innovate and solve unique and challenging problems.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a creative, artist-first environment within the team.
