    Job Description

    JOB TITLE: SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

    LOCATION: SAN DIEGO, CA

    US CITIZENSHIP: REQUIRED

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Technology Unlimited Group (TUG) seeks a self-starting Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the installation and configuration of server OS and applications, administering system procedures, and maintaining user accounts. You will also test, maintain and support operating system software; review performance logs and monitoring overall system status; troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software and connectivity issues; create shell programs and utility scripts; perform configurations and adjustments to enhance system performance; and perform automated and manual backup/restore processes. The position will be at the TUG office and/or customer sites in San Diego.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
    • Four years or more of relevant experience with Linux (preferably, SELinux) and Windows
    • CompTIA Security+ and computing environment certification.
    • Knowledge of Local and Wide Area Network design and administration to include DNS, WINS, VPN, Remote Access, PKI, Active Directory, network monitoring, SLA monitoring, network security monitoring, server and desktop hardening.
    • Containerization (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)
    • Virtualization (VirtualBox, Qemu/KVM, or similar)
    • Storage (iSCSI, NFS, or similar)
    • Scripting (Ruby, Grunt JS, Shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Zsh, Ksh, etc.), or similar)
    • Single Sign-On (IPA (or FreeIPA), OAuth, Keycloak, or similar)
    • Database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
    • App Servers (Wildfly, JBoss, or similar)

    DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    In addition to the required skills, the ideal candidate should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Able to quickly learn how to install, configure and administer various Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) automation products and software applications unique to military missions.
    • Can perform software and hardware upgrades, patches, and application updates to all information technology equipment, systems and applications.
    • Able to perform Information Assurance (IA) procedures to include data backup recovery procedures, and STIG verification.
    • Set up and maintain VM images of build/developer environments.

    ABILITY TO OBTAIN U.S. SECRET CLEARANCE (U.S. CITIZENSHIP). CURRENT CLEARANCE PREFERRED.
