    Job Description

    Reporting to the Manager of Consumer Insights and Market Research, the Market & Consumer Research Intern will support initiatives related to pricing, promotion, competitive analysis, market & consumer research.

     

    The Market & Consumer Research Intern will have the opportunity to learn about the role of research and its importance for the larger company strategy.  S/he will assist in multiple stages of research projects and be responsible key operational tasks.  They will learn about questionnaire development, data analysis, assessing metrics, and writing reports.  S/he will assist in the day-to-day support of product, promotion, ad-hoc analysis, and reporting to find actionable insights to increase revenue domestically and internationally.

     

    For the ideal candidate, this position has the potential to transition into a full-time role.

    The tasks and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Conduct consumer & market research to inform key business decisions.
    • Gather and report insights on music industry competitors and larger market trends.
    • Design questionnaires, plan quotas, and execute fielding.
    • Assist with survey development, interviews, and speak with artists to identify actionable insights for the Marketing, International, and Product teams.
    •  Synthesize research findings into relevant and actionable recommendations.
    •  Prepare background information/research for proposals and reports.
    •  Help with design of analyses to ensure best practices, information sharing, and optimization.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ·       Experience in Product Marketing, Consumer Research, and/or Music Industry.

    ·       Exposure to consumer and market research – primary and secondary.

    ·       Skilled in manipulating data with Excel and/or Google Sheets.

    ·       Experience with SQL and Google Analytics is a plus.

    • Pursuing or recently graduate from BS/BA or Master’s degree

    • Love of music and and/or interest in digital music distribution.

    • Proactive, energetic attitude and interest in market research, business intelligence, or consumer insights.

    ·       Detail-oriented and highly organized.

    ·       Self-motivated with the ability to function independently and work on multiple projects concurrently.

    • Team player and comfortable working cross-functionally.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
