    We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our dedicated team in this Albany, NY or mid-west based remote position.

    This position is perfect for someone who is looking to put their scientific knowledge to use supporting clients in a sales role.

    The Inside Sales Representative engages daily with our customers to support their study needs with the appropriate Taconic solution. In collaboration with their field sales partners, customer service, and technical support teams, they will manage all aspects of client relations by qualifying the customer’s needs, aligning Taconic products/services, gathering market information, prospecting for new opportunities, and providing technical information to customers.

    Duties of the Inside Sales Representative include the following:

    • Collaborating with the extended selling team to position Taconic products and services to scientists

    • Increasing sales by growing business with existing clients and identifying new business opportunities/expand customer base, properly qualifying opportunities for inclusion in pipeline/forecasts

    • Gaining knowledge of customer’s study needs and applications of Taconic products & services

    • Maintaining existing business and customer base by developing appropriate relationships and solutions that meet customer needs

    • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to marketing, product management, project management, and operations in providing customers with the best solution

    • Provide internal customers with information via reports, requests, forecasts, etc.

    • Contributing to dissemination of product and service offerings and up-to-date technical information for customers, keeping abreast of information in specialist field

    • Occasional travel (pending COVID-19 guidelines) to tradeshows or sales meetings

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or technical school. Major in biology or related scientific field preferred
    • 2-5 years of relevant experience and/or training in tele-selling in a technical or specialized field is preferred 
    • Is a team player, comfortable working in a fast pace, high volume environment
    • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or other CRM system
    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
    • Skilled in writing effective e-mails, presentations and/or documents for external circulation
    • Ability to listen empathetically, understand information presented by people with different communication styles and different points of view, and mediate disagreements
