Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To serve as the primary point of contact for new product development and new product sales activities between the USA, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and Europe. The Business Development Manager will be the Product Manager for new products being developed and introduced into the marketplace. As the Product Manager, the BDM will be the subject matter expert for newly developed products and will be responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing market strategy and achieving marketing targets and sales goals as established by Taiyo America’s management. Specific responsibilities include business and market development; regulatory compliance in the specific markets, market research and planning; strategic direction for promotion and advertising; coordination with sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Identify significant business opportunities and increase revenue
- Create business and product development plans, do opportunity assessments, initiate product kick offs, and assist with program management until product release
- Lead new product development team and define new products
- Develop product strategies, product positioning, and new product roadmaps
- Release new products to the target market
- Work with our top customers, sales and representative teams, field applications engineers, and distributor partners. Provide technical training and support for new business
- Interface with customers and field to understand market requirements
- Establish pricing strategy for new products
- Own revenue forecast and work in close coordination with sales teams on gap closures
- Understand competitive pricing and provide detailed competitive analysis
- Knowledge of end equipment and solutions for high reliability market
- Ability to identify new product opportunities
- Frequent travel to targeted strategic customers/OEMs worldwide to provide technical trainings and product/roadmap overviews, assist sales team, and obtain feedback on new product ideas
- Provide technical support to customers to solve application issues
- Creation of marketing collateral, product roadmap definition, market communication material, white papers, application notes, and conference presentations
- Lead expansion strategies
- Long range product strategy and business growth
- Supervision and management of staff employees
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (Scientific Studies) or equivalent with industry experience and background in chemistry and/or PCB
- A combination of 10 years sales, product marketing, product management, or business development·
- US citizenship (or authorization to work in the US) and fluency in English
- Appetite for start-up culture with the ability to work within a corporate structure. Quick learner and self-starter
- Working knowledge of PCB and/or IC development
- Strong project management and cross-departmental communication skills
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills to work with clients, team members, and management staff
- Commitment to maximize customer satisfaction, paying attention to what’s new in tech, and having an innate desire to understand how things work
