SO, WHAT WILL THE ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST DO?

Our client is seeking a qualified Environmental Scientist to work under the supervision of an LSRP, professional geologist or asbestos inspector. The Environmental Scientist will collect field data and environmental media samples, interpreting data and preparing technical reports.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST?

You will:

• Collect and manage environmental samples
• Interpret and manipulate field and laboratory data
• Conduct investigations related to site remediation particularly in NJ, NY, and PA
• Interact with state and federal regulators
• Interpret regulations and guidance documents
• Supervise and document field studies
• Coordinate subcontractors
• Calibrate, operate and maintain field equipment
• Conduct aquifer testing
• Prepare reports, maps, and annotated findings using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU LOOK FOR?

You might be the Environmental Scientist we're looking for if you have:

• 3+ years of environmental consulting experience
• Accredited Asbestos Inspector or Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor required
• A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or Environmental Science
• OSHA 40 HAZWOPR training with annual 8-hour refreshers
• OSHA 8-hour HAZWOPR Supervisor training
• Familiarity with NJ, NY and PA site remediation regulations, guidance documents and forms
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter and team player

WHAT OTHER QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU LOOK FOR?

• Moderate travel (typically 1 to 2 hours per day)
• Occasional long-distance travel and overnight stays
• Working in various terrains and environments throughout the year
