    Terrestris LLC, is seeking Full Time Equivalent Subject Matter Experts for Training Specialist services to provide technical, logistical, and instruction support for the conduct of multi-disciplinary medical modeling and simulation and cadaveric tissue-based operational medicine training to primarily include Tier 3 and Tier 4 TCCC training.

    The Subject Matter Experts for Training Specialist will provide technical and task training services needed to provide mission-essential healthcare simulation-based training required for the conduct of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) courses and pre-deployment Operational Medicine Training. This location is based in San Diego California.

    WHAT YOUR DAY CONSISTS OF:

    • Conduct multi-disciplinary simulation and cadaveric tissue-based operational medicine training in support of the Bioskills and Simulation Training Center (BSTC) mission.
    • Facilitate medical simulation training to include preparing, operating, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of task trainers and human patient simulators.
    • Be responsible for setting up training aids, supplies, and equipment to meet training objectives. Communicate with the BSTC managers for restocking and resupply when required to meet the training mission.
    • Operate simulation equipment, task trainers, and computerized human patient simulators, in support of TCCC and operational medicine training objectives.
    • Utilize and adhere to DOD and DON approved training curriculum when applicable.  All necessary approved curricula and resources for the delivery of training will be provided by BSTC managers.  
    • Always utilize TCCC curriculum and training scenarios as per BUMED Instruction 1510.25A, NEMTI TCCC Admin guide, and in compliance with JTS-CoTCCC Guidelines when conducting TCCC training.
    • Operate and maintain simulation-related audio-video systems required for the delivery of didactic curriculum content and/or the recording of simulation-based events.
    • Ensure proper equipment, simulators, task training devices, and required supplies are set-up prior to training events.
    • Follow proper procedures as promulgated by BSTC managers for the disposal of HAZMAT, sharps, and soiled linens.
    • Utilize all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as promulgated by BSTC managers and ensure training participants utilize appropriate PPE during training events.

    SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT TRAINING SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be a U.S. citizen.
    • Be a fluent English speaker and possess excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Military or civilian formal medical training (i.e. US Navy Corpsman, Combat Medic, Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC), Nurse, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with prior experience in trauma and/or military medicine, working in a primary care/first responder capacity.
    • Must meet Tier 3 TCCC-MP instructor requirements as outlined in Section 4.b and 4.c of BUMEDINST 1510.25A and Chapter 1 and Appendix 3 of the NEMTI Admin Guide – April 2020. 
      1. Successful completion of a BUMED approved Tier 3 TCCC-MP Instructor course or NAEMT TCCC Instructor certification validated by a certificate of completion and must have taught a minimum of 4 NEMTI or 4 NAEMT approved TCCC-MP courses in the last 2 years.
      1. Instructor reciprocity will be granted for TCCC instructors who graduated from TCCC Instructor course at FMTB and Instructors who graduated from the Special Operations Combat Medic Course or Special Operations Independent Duty Course.  Instructor qualification must be current as above with a minimum of 4 TCCC MP Courses taught in the last 2 years.

    SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT TRAINING SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Must have instructed at least four Tier 3 TCCC-MP courses within the last two calendar years.
    • Formal training and demonstrated proficiency with performance for all skills required for Tier 4 TCCC as per Section 4 of DoD Instruction 1322.24 and JTS-CoTCCC recommended provider level skill sets.
    • Must have relevant work experience handling and managing cadaveric tissue for the purposes of instructing resuscitative procedures.
    • Must have documented formal training in simulation operations and simulation-based education methodologies or two years of relevant work experience in human patient simulator operations, with no more than a two-year gap since most recent work history.
    • Navy 9502 Instructor Training or equivalent DOD Instructor Training or a minimum of 1 year documented experience in providing instruction for Tier 3 and/or Tier 4 TCCC training curriculum
    • Possess the US Navy enlisted classification 9502, US Army or US Air Force Basic Instructor Course certification or NAEMT Instructor certification with a minimum of 1-year experience as NAEMT Instructor teaching TCCC MP Course
    • experienced with Microsoft Office software and use of the world-wide-web. They will be experienced with Microsoft Access and/or Excel software and able to work on a Macintosh laptop or desktop computer in addition to Windows-based computers. 
    • Have experience in maintaining databases for data entry and future data analysis, specifically utilizing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
    • Shifts will be 8-10 hours per day and the total weekly work hours will not exceed the expected 40 hours per week.  May be required to work after normal working hours (i.e., swing and graveyard).
    • All positions may have periods of prolonged standing and/or crawling and must be able to lift/move 100-150 pounds of training mannequins.
