CertiPath is focused on bringing facility and network access management for Federal Agencies into the 21st century.

    SO, WHAT WILL THE TECHNICAL WRITER AT CERTIPATH DO?

    You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will take a hands-on approach in helping a Federal Agency with its nationwide Physical Security Program Office (Program).  You will work with a team of engineering professionals to publish Plain Language materials to communicate and train Agency personnel on Program Standards and newly deployed Software Solutions to ensure compliance with complex federal and agency mandates.   Best of all, you'll get to grow your experience working alongside smart people to solve problems that make the world a safer, more efficient place.

    WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR THE TECHNICAL WRITER?

    Although no two days will be the same, you will:

    • Design and develop complex technical and functional documentation including;
      • Strategic Plans and Program Standards
      • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
      • Technical and functional specifications and other technical project artifacts
      • Training manuals, training materials, and/or complex web content
      • Technical presentations
      • Executive Level Communications

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU LOOK FOR?

    You might be the Technical Writer we're looking for if you have:

    • US Citizenship
    • At least a bachelor's Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
    • 6 years of total experience, 3 years of which includes experience writing technical documentation within an Information Technology environment
    • Ability to gather resource material from a variety of resources, including Subject Matter Experts, Engineers and Analysts
    • Capability of translating technical details into Plain Language that will be understandable by non-engineers
    • Ability to review existing technical documentation and work with internal teams to drive improvements to comply with document standards and best practices
    • Experience in creating visual diagrams to explain processes, system architecture, etc.
    • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
    • Experience in developing engaging learning activities and compelling instructor-led course content and/or eLearning storyboards
    • Must have the ability to:
      • demonstrate superior grammar, as well as written and verbal communication skills
      • provide expert-level ability with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Visio
      • learn and adapt quickly to changing requirements
      • work both under limited supervision and in a team environment

    We're extra impressed by folks with:

    • Experience performing on federal contracting engagements
    • Experience writing content for enterprise security solutions
    • Certification through the Society for Technical Communicators
    • Knowledge of the Agile Method
