Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Talent Acquisition Specialist to support full-cycle recruitment efforts within a large, complex metropolitan organization. This role is responsible for sourcing, screening, coordinating, and supporting the hiring process to ensure the organization attracts and selects qualified talent in alignment with workforce needs and organizational goals.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist partners with hiring managers and Human Resources staff to facilitate efficient recruitment processes, maintain compliance with applicable employment laws, and provide a positive candidate experience. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple recruitment activities in a structured, deadline-driven environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, or human resources support
- Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment processes, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and onboarding support
- Strong working knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms
- Experience reviewing resumes, conducting preliminary candidate screenings, and coordinating interview logistics
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws, including EEO, FLSA, and basic Texas workforce regulations
- Experience maintaining recruitment records and ensuring compliance with internal policies and documentation standards
- Ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience Preferences
- Experience recruiting within a public-sector, governmental, transportation, or unionized environment
- Familiarity with civil service or structured classification systems
- Experience participating in job fairs, community outreach, or workforce development initiatives
- Experience supporting high-volume recruitment efforts

Education Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer-service skills

- SHRM-CP, PHR, or progress toward HR certification (preferred)
- Continuing education in talent acquisition, employment law, or workforce planning
