The Logistics and Transportation Director is responsible for evaluating the current state, envisioning a strategic future, and executing the plan to transform the logistics and transportation department. This role demands strategic insight and a proven track record in departmental transformation

Vision/Strategy:
Create the vision and strategy to align internal logistics capabilities and 3PL partners to grow with the company while controlling costs and providing excellent customer service.
Transportation:
Plan, direct, and coordinate all transportation activities, implementing the most cost-effective shipping models.
Establish, maintain, and routinely report on Transportation Metrics (cost, service, and quality loads.)
Fleet Management:
Develop and maintain company driver program (training, metrics, cost)
Process Improvement:
Implement operational improvements in route optimization, carrier selection,
backhauls, and trailer loading.
This will include the selection and implementation of a new Transportation Management System. (TMS)
Budget:
Manage overall Transportation Budget, including capital expense planning and execution.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
10+ years of supply chain management and manufacturing leadership experience
Strong logistics and transportation experience managing company driver/fleet required
Multi-location company required.
TMS system selection and implementation
In-depth knowledge of DOT requirements and oversight.
Ability and desire to be onsite at locations up to 50%.
