    Our client, a leading financial services provider for agricultural growers and producers across North America. Within the California market, this bank partners with and provides a variety of credit solutions to growers, processors and owners of California’s various crops, commodities, livestock as well as working closely with wine, vineyard and CPG food industry professionals.

    Key Responsibilities

    Relationship Management & Prospecting

    • Develop, maintain, and expand a network of internal and external referral sources including appraisers, attorneys, CPAs, agricultural retailers, product buyers, bankers, title companies, and relators
    • Develop a list of primary target prospects and calling plan. Ensure all client, prospect & COI activities are documented in Salesforce in a timely manner
    • Attend food & ag shows, ag-related seminars, local public & community events, and other food & ag-related events
    • Assist with the development of lead generation for the Salinas office

    Client Contact

    • Act as primary contact with the bank’s clients assigned to you, advising them on loan options, loan structure and pricing
    • Set and manage client expectations of regarding the timing, processing and procedures for the underwriting, documenting and closing of commercial ag loans

    Products & Cross-Selling

    • Stay informed of internal developments on the bank’s loans and advise clients, as needed, no less than annually
    • Assist the Market Manager with the planning and execution of local and regional marketing projects and sponsorships

    Coordination and Coaching

    • Monitor Financial Analysts to assure complete and accurate financial analysis, credit underwriting and structure.
    • Coach the Junior Relationship Managers in the group as needed

    Risk & Portfolio Management

    • Learn & utilize Salesforce as the main tool for work documentation as well as nCino for credit application & processing
    • Actively identify incidents outside of established policies and procedures and report to management immediately
    • Be knowledgeable of and comply with laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures that are applicable to required job duties
    • Understand and comply with all of bank’s anti-money laundering, compliance, and all other applicable laws
    • Comply with the Bank’s code of conduct and all policies & procedures
    • Complete all mandatory quarterly training in a timely manner

    Minimum Requirements

    • 5+ years of food & ag commercial lending experience and solid understanding of diversified production agriculture and livestock enterprises
    • Self-starter who is focused and committed to sharing the Bank’s story in the marketplace
    • Solid understanding of Ag/Commercial loan structures including ABL, Ag Real Estate (land & real property), equipment term loans & working capital
    • Strong knowledge of loan documentation including perfection of liens and mortgages on real estate, crops, inventory, machinery, and real property
    • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage a portfolio of ag commodities, food, wine & ag clients by providing thorough financial and risk analysis
    • Demonstrate strong verbal & written communication as well as superior customer service acumen
    • Enjoy working collectively and collaboratively with the team
    • Bachelor’s degree
