    Job Description

    Are you interested in social impact UX, Design Research or service design? Would you like to apply your 3+ years of experience researching and designing services to help San Franciscans experiencing poverty and abuse? Our client is the leading City and County government Agency in San Francisco who provides social services: the Human Services Agency (sfhsa.org). They are looking for someone through December 2021 at 40 hours/week with the opportunity to extend for another three years. The start date would be late-April or early-May on a three-person team with service design, research, and visual design chops. This position expands the capacity of existing UX and Design Research expertise rather than introducing it to this government context. Individuals from underrepresented populations in the UX and Design field, including parents/guardians and others returning to the paid workforce, are highly encouraged to apply.

     

    OBJECTIVE:

    To make it easier for the public to apply for and receive CalFresh (money for food), Medi-Cal (subsidized healthcare), CalWORKs & JobsNOW! (unemployment help) and the County Adult Assistance Program (support for housing insecure individuals). Your role is to be a core member of the strategy and implementation team for this multiyear project.

     

    SCOPE OF WORK:

    ·       Usability testing of existing technologies to access services and information on mobile and non-mobile devices.

    ·       Designing prototypes to create, test and iterate improvements across digital and non-digital service delivery channels.

    ·       Facilitating ad hoc teams to scope and implement projects, including success metrics, timelines for implementation, resources required, and appropriate levels of stakeholder involvement.

    ·       Discovering the underlying causes for how clients, potential clients, community partners and employees experience services.

    ·       Analyzing quantitative data, including developing a detailed understanding of analytics from the HSA website, program databases, surveys, evaluations, etc.

    ·       Conducting qualitative research (interviews, focus groups, observational data in our lobbies, phone centers, etc.)

    ·       Strengthening internal capacity of project teams to continuously prototype, test and iterate services after projects are done
