    Job Summary

    The Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate project accounting records and ensuring compliance with government requirements for DOD programs. Provide financial guidance to Program Management teams that will ensure compliance. Position requires a working knowledge of the cost and schedule management and applicable DCAA/DCMA requirements.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Supports program teams in the development and preparation of program baselines and financial forecasts, estimate at complete (EAC) development and reviews, preparation of financial packages, cost and schedule trend reporting and compliance support, audit support, baseline development and internal integrated baseline reviews, financial and investigative analysis, and real-time information and analysis to PMs, CAMs and Finance Management
    • Closely supports PM team and collaborates with other functions including scheduling, contracts, procurement and central finance
    • Supports policy, process, tools, training, and performance assessment in accordance with corporate guidelines
    • Provides specialized analysis and develops specialized reports using analytical tools as required to ensure contract compliance / accuracy.
    • Conducts, maintenance, and detailed project reporting.
    • Interact heavily with internal / external customers regularly for program analysis and performance (actual to plan).
    • Develop annual forward pricing overhead rates.
    • In depth understanding of overhead rates, responsible for both calculating and analysis of rates. Comfortable with ERP/MRP interfacing reviewing integrated master schedule and master production schedules supporting SIOP
    • Some International Travel.
    • Must be able to work within restrictions imposed by ITAR and other governmental regulations.

     

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
    • 3 years combined experience in Finance or project control and/or government contracting Understanding of FAR and CAS regulations
    • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirement

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience in Manufacturing, DoD, and/or Aerospace
    • Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
    • Experience with budget development, variance analysis, estimates to complete, and project reporting in an integrated product team environment is preferred financial analysis
