Job Summary

The Procurement Manager will oversee and direct the activities of the purchasing department. Develops, manages, and supervises all aspects of procurement, including sourcing, purchasing, fabrication, logistics and related administration. Drive strategic supplier initiatives including supplier selection, development, consolidation and platforming methodology.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, material, product, and acceptable substitutions.
• Assess current material availability reasonably predicts future availably based on the market, developer systems and other variables.
• Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
• Prepares and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials suppliers and equipment.
• Drafts, explains, and implement instructions, policies and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
• Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
• Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors and suppliers.
• Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
• Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.
• Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
• Administers the department budgets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Procurement or equivalent degree in a related discipline
• 5 years relevant business experience in manufacturing supply chain/procurement including purchasing of raw materials.
• 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing management, including previous experience with an international supply base.
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the manufacturing for aerospace industry and associated technological and commercial trends
• Management and/or supervisory experience in supply chain/procurement highly preferred.
• Core competences: Analytical ability, Decisiveness, Customer focus, Consciousness of the environment, Organization sensitivity, Planning and organization, Focus on results.
• A demonstrated ability to build relations with a supplier network and having insight in suppliers processes.
• A demonstrated ability to develop a performance excellence organization.
