Our stable real estate client is seeking a motivated Accounting Clerk to assist with daily and monthly accounting operations focused on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets. This position provides a clear promotional path to Staff Accountant if the individual performs well. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Accounts Receivable – enter cash receipts and generate daily deposits and related forms
- Accounts Payable – enter invoices into system for approval and payment processing; prepare check disbursements; prepare A/P reports and maintain vendor files
- Bank Reconciliations – perform bank reconciliations to tie to the general ledger and analyze reconciliations for extraordinary items
- Month-end close – post recurring journal entries, maintain fixed assets and related schedules, assist where needed
- Administration – Assist with various administrative tasks such as filing records, copying paperwork, prepare/update monthly calendars and schedules
- Assist in various ad-hoc tasks when presented
The qualified Accounting Clerk will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Approximately 2+ years of experience in G/L accounting (including A/R and A/P and balance sheet reconciliations)
- Solid Excel skills; prior exposure to Yardi (Voyager and/or PayScan) or similar real estate industry software such as MRI or Timberline is highly preferred
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written), organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Driven, motivated, inquisitive, and proactive mindset preferred
