Tax Manager

Our popular and well-known client headquartered in Irvine is seeking a Tax Manager that will play a hands-on role with various aspects of corporate tax planning and compliance. The Tax Manager will provide management and staff development support in addition to the technical responsibilities of the role. This role will report to the Senior Tax Manager. The Tax Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Manage the timely preparation of domestic income tax returns along with oversee the preparation of state and local tax returns and indirect taxes
• Prepare and manage – from inception to completion - the quarterly income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
• Perform complex tax research and planning in anticipation of emerging tax issues facing the organization
• Mentor and develop tax staff to further expand the internal tax knowledge base
• Partner with internal management and non-finance functions to develop stronger working relationships and support
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

The qualified Tax Manager must possess the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Master of Taxation preferred
• Blend of public accounting and industry experience preferred
• Active CPA status required
• Strong relevant experience focused on domestic tax compliance and tax provision
• Working knowledge of state and local taxes and indirect taxes
• Previous managerial experience of staff
• Proactive, curious mindset with strong leadership skills and internal business acumen
