Our educational services-based client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting and finance function to assist with various facets of accounting in this newly created role. This is a dynamic opportunity to join a growing organization and be positioned to learn and grow with the company and department. The Staff Accountant will provide support to the accounting team and report to the Controller. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Participate in the daily operational transactions of the accounting functions
• Oversee the Accounts Payable cycle by monitoring invoices, entering data, providing back-up/audit support, obtaining approvals, and processing payments
• Assist the Accounts Receivable cycle by reviewing contract terms, entering data, and processing billings on a timely basis
• Manage the expense report process by reviewing, communicating and resolving issues, and approving expense reports for reimbursement
• Participate in ad-hoc accounting projects and identify areas for process improvements and efficiencies

The qualified Staff Accountant will possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting; CPA preferred
• At least 2+ years of corporate or public accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills required (i.e., Lookups, Sum/If, Index Match, etc.); prior experience with Netsuite preferred
• The ability to thrive in a growing, fluid environment along with being pro-active, organized, and detail-oriented
• Strong emotional IQ along with values that emphasize the importance of education
